Overview
Yoti gives you the ability to authenticate a user's identity with just a selfie (either a facial image from the user or a previous IDV liveness check). Face Auth then compares this image with a selfie taken in real-time by a liveness check.
You can use it to protect accounts and transactions with biometric and verified identity checks, block fraudsters and impersonators. Reduce friction with passwordless login and reusable credentials. Safeguard critical operations from disruption by ransomware and other evolving threats.
You can also add full identity verification to a document, depending on your strategy or regulatory requirements.

Yoti’s advanced biometric face matching technology ensures the person accessing an account is the legitimate owner by comparing their live selfie with the photo on their identity documents or in their user profiles. A biometric map of the user’s face can be stored either by the organisation or Yoti and taken at the point of account creation. This can then be used to confirm a user’s identity when required.
There are a few steps to use this service:
- Upload a facial image (ideally obtained from a previous IDV session or from the user profile)
- Perform a Liveness check
- Configure Face Auth (face comparison check) when creating an Identity Verification session
